Palaszczuk and Berejiklian in ‘meating’ of minds
Their rivalry was laid bare in 2020, but there’s been a ‘meating’ of minds between Annastacia Palaszczuk and Gladys Berejiklian in a cheeky new ad campaign.

They’re sworn political enemies and State of Origin arch-foes, but Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and her NSW counterpart Gladys Berejiklian have been spotted in Brisbane chewing the fat – or rather a lamb chop.
The two premiers are among rival leaders featuring in a cheeky new advertising campaign by Meat and Livestock Australia in the lead-up to Australia Day.
They are part of MLA’s irreverent annual summer lamb campaign which traditionally features former AFL star turned sports commentator Sam Kekovich.
This year’s campaign is themed on states feuding over COVID-19 border closures, with a hilarious TV commercial depicting Aussies breaking down symbolic ‘concrete’ walls between the states to unite over a lamb barbecue.
A mural depicting Ms Palaszczuk and Ms Berejiklian cosying up over a juicy lamb chop was trucked through Brisbane on Thursday.
Similar mobile billboards featuring Victorian Premier Dan Andrews and South Australia’s Steve Marshall, as well as WA Premier Mark McGowan and Prime Minister Scott Morrison, have also hit the road this week.
Ms Palaszczuk and Ms Berejiklian have been sniping at each other for months over Queensland’s hard line border closures and hotel quarantine rules.
