A man in his 20s has died after a serious two-vehicle crash at Ferny Hills north of Brisbane.

About 12.30pm Sunday, two cars collided head-on on Samford Rd near the intersection with Ancaster Rd.

One of the drivers, a Brisbane man, suffered head and spinal injuries and was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The other driver, a 45-year-old Everton Hills woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital.

The passenger in the vehicle driven by the Brisbane man died at the scene.

Samford Road was closed for several hours.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses or motorists with relevant dashcam footage to contact them. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
