News Corp generated its exclusive list based on factors like student-teacher ratio, average fees, academic performance and more.
Kawana Waters State College was ranked the highest out of the Sunshine Coast schools at 25, followed by Sunshine Beach State High School at 30, and Coolum State High School at 35.
The complete list of Sunshine Coast School rankings are:
Kawana Waters State College (Ranked 25)
Sunshine Beach State High School (Ranked 30)
Coolum State High School (Ranked 35)
Chancellor State College Sippy Downs (Ranked 49)

Kawana secondary campus head Elly Gerbo credited the school’s success largely to its staff.
“Our biggest asset is our teaching staff who are committed to every child, and getting the best from every child,” Ms Gerbo said.
“It means that every single person has had to work hard, to ensure that we are offering a range of opportunities.”
Ms Gerbo said these steps had contributed to Kawana being seen as a competitive school.
“We’re competitive against the private and Catholic sector,” Ms Gerbo said.
“We’re offering opportunities that are just as amazing as any other school in Queensland can offer at the highest quality schools.”
Coolum State High School principal Troy Ascott said its ranking was attributed to its staff and students.
“We have an outstanding staff,” Mr Ascott said.
“We have the most wonderful students who really bought into a culture of high expectations and high performance.
“It’s something that’s been building over a number of years now.
Coolum State High School has also experienced great academic success.
“In 2023 Jessnee Ng had an ATAR score of 99.95,” the principal said.
“That’s the highest ATAR score you can get in Queensland.
“Last year we had six students get ATAR scores over 99.
“So that’s six of our students in the top one per cent.
“In 2022, Jemima Bainbridge won the award as the highest performing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders student in Queensland,
“We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved. But there’s more to come,” he said.
