Cooroibah disability support service Sunshine Butterflies has launched an ambitious $500,000 fundraising effort to spread its wings by buying out the four hectare neighbouring property to triple in size.

Already the campaign has profited from a $20,000 donation from Lift Brands Asia Pacific – part of the world’s largest wellness franchise organisation.

The planned expansion of the farm-based Our Backyard operations will enable Sunshine Butterflies to provide small-scale, residential supported homes for the most vulnerable members of the community as well more programs, services and activities for those living with disability.

“A huge thank you to the Lift Brands APAC team and CEO Chris Caldwell for their incredible generosity towards a life changing project for people living with disability and their families,” said Sunshine Butterflies founder and CEO Leanne Walsh.

The donation came after the Sunshine Butterflies crew joined more than 300 staff from the Lift Brands APAC network for the company’s team-building summit.

“Our team had such a great time watching the Lift Brands APAC staff compete in a modern-day version of It’s a Knockout,” Ms Walsh said.
