Nicholas Tadros gets leg amputated after Sea World helicopter crash
The young boy who survived the Sea World helicopter crash that killed his mum and three others has had his leg amputated from the knee down.

The young boy who survived the Sea World helicopter crash has had his leg amputated after his father revealed doctors had been unable to save his right foot.
Nicholas Tadros has been in hospital since the horrific accident where two helicopters collided mid-air. The crash claimed the life of his mother, UK tourists Ron and Diane Hughes and pilot Ash Jenkinson.
While Nicholas is on the road to recovery and doesn’t have a brain injury, his father Simon Tadros told The Courier-Mail on Saturday his son was scheduled to have a surgery to amputate his leg on Monday.
Nicholas’ church, St John the Beloved Church at Mount Druitt posted on social media on Monday
“Nicholas Tadros has had his surgery and it went well. Unfortunately, he has had to amputate his right leg from the knee down,” the church wrote.
“Doctors are happy with his progress. All we ask is that everyone keep him in their prayers as he continues to recover.”
Prior to the surgery Mr Tadros told the Courier Mail his son was brave.
““Nicholas is being brave but is scared and nervous,” he said.
“I just ask everyone to pray for my son and that all goes well.”
Mr Tadros has previously spoken of how his “strong-willed boy”
“I’ve lost count of how many surgeries he’s had. It’s a daily struggle for him, the least I can do is be there for my son and fight the fight with him,” Mr Tadros told A Current Affair.
The other two survivors of the doomed helicopter, Winnie de Silva and her nine-year-old son Leon, continue to recover.
Mrs de Silva was discharged from hospital while her son is continuing his recovery.
