CAMPBELL Newman has sought to draw a line beneath the damaging saga of his interests by releasing a fresh declaration of his financial affairs.

The Courier-Mail can reveal the LNP leader's disclosures for himself and wife Lisa include several new additions, including a previously undisclosed trust, properties and a company.

Most of the fresh financial details have been revealed because Mr Newman has completed the form filled out by all state MPs that requires more details than its council counterpart.

However, the former Brisbane lord mayor released legal advice that indicates he did not breach any disclosure laws following a complaint to the Crime and Misconduct Commission by the Government. The issue of Mr Newman's interests has now dragged on for a month, sparking LNP concerns that it would hurt their bid to oust Labor.

Mr Newman (pictured) yesterday told The Courier-Mail he wanted the issue to pass. "I would hope that it would draw a line under this whole thing. Sadly I think the Labor Party will continue with their personal campaign of attacks against me."

He said he was not personally bruised from the affair but his wife and father-in-law were upset. He did acknowledge that he probably should have released the updated form sooner.

Mr Newman's form details two units, a Victorian house and a 50 per cent share in a NSW property owned by family company Frome Holdings.

It also includes a Canberra property that he may inherit and a Cabcharge card he was given to pay for taxi and limousine services. The form completed for Mrs Newman includes a previously undisclosed company, Mitzi Corporation, which he insists is inactive. Mr Newman said he was unaware of Mitzi and the additional trust when he made the council declaration and the rules only require him to list what he knows.

He said the properties from the entities he was aware of have been listed in the latest form but were not required at council.

"Clearly the State Government level of disclosure is a much higher level of disclosure," Mr Newman said.

The legal advice, which has been forwarded to the CMC, backs Mr Newman on all issues the Government complained about. Specifically on the properties owned by Frome Holdings that were not listed in his council disclosure, King & Company Solicitors state: "You are not required to disclose details of the assets which Frome Holdings Pty Ltd may hold.

"It is accordingly our view that this allegation is completely baseless."
