Mums see the joke in new hospital beds

Maternity facilities at the $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital are second to none, with birthing suites designed to feel like home. Well, for mum anyway. If this picture is anything to go by, the facilities aren’t quite so plush for new dads.

THIS is one of the new dad beds at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital’s maternity wing.

And the mums loving it.

If mum has to suffer for hours and sometimes days through labour then dad shouldn’t have it too easy, right? And by the look of the rack-like design the hospital must be drumming up new business for musculoskeletal doctors.

Mothers are sharing their joy on Facebook.

Melbourne maternity hospitals push to clock up the cuddles with premature babies

To be fair the $1.8bn hospital offers first-class maternity facilities … for mum. The 11-birth suites are private rooms and even have big baths for waterbirths. The temperature of the rooms can be set like in a bedroom and it feels like a home from home.

Mums are top priority and so they should be. Is this the world’s most uncomfortable bed?
