The faces of Qld's 2020 road toll

Two men have died in separate crashes in the state’s southeast overnight.

A 31-year-old man died at the scene when the 4WD he was driving lost control and hit a tree at Bundamba, Ipswich.

The crash happened about 9.30pm Friday on Ashburn Rd, near the intersection with Wood St.

The Flinders View was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Earlier, a man died after crashing his motorcycle into a drain beside a busy road north of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Big Fish Tavern on Pumicestone Rd, Caboolture, about 6.30pm.

Initial reports suggest the man lost control of his black motorcycle and crashed into a drain beside the road.

Police and paramedics provided first aid to the rider, however the 29-year-old Rothwell man died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours but reopened overnight.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations for both crashes.
