A motorbike rider has suffered serious head and chest injuries after a crash on private property south of Brisbane.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics, including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to a private address at Yatala about 4.40pm.

One person was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Earlier, a woman suffered multiple injuries after the motorcycle she was driving crashed down an embankment west of the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to Tamborine Mountain Rd at 2.10pm at Canungra.

Multiple ambulance crews remain on scene and a QAS spokeswoman said initial reports showed the woman was in a stable condition.

It is believed she suffered shoulder and lower limb injuries.

Travellers in the area have been asked to seek alternative routes.
