Motorcyclist feared dead after hitting kangaroo

A motorcyclist is feared dead after colliding with a kangaroo on a country Queensland road. The road was expected to be closed for several hours.

A motorcyclist is feared dead after colliding with a kangaroo on a country road in the Bundaberg Region.

Paramedics were called to the crash on Gin Gin Mount Perry Road in Moolboolaman, west of Gin Gin, at 8.08am.

The motorcycle rider was assessed at the scene for critical injuries by paramedics.

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area, with Gin Gin Mount Perry Rd expected to be closed in both directions until at least midday.

The rider’s gender and age is not yet known.

The crash comes after a serious motorbike crash at Mango Hill overnight which left a male in his late teens with significant leg injuries and a male in his 30s with leg and pelvic injuries.

The crash happened on Anzac Ave about 1.36am.

The two were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in serious conditions.
