Man killed in motorcycle crash that closes Pacific Motorway at Oxenford

A man has died following a serious motorbike crash on the Pacific Motorway at Oxenford. It is the second serious bike accident in the area this week.

A 61-year-old man has died following a serious motorcycle crash on the Pacific Motorway Monday afternoon.

Initial Queensland Police Service investigations indicate the man was travelling north on the Pacific Motorway on-ramp at Oxenford when he lost control and struck a light pole.

The accident occured about 3.45, with northbound lanes of the motorway closed for several hours.

The road has since reopened.

This is the second serious fatal motorcycle crash on the M1 which has closed the thoroughfare this week, after a 66-year-old Carrara man came off his bike and into the path of a truck on Wednesday.
