The Matildas showbag has sold out within the first 48 hours of the Ekka as fans rushed to score the on-trend item.
The bag included a matildas tote, a soccer ball, drink bottle, wrist band, key ring and scarf, but by Monday morning fans were unable to buy any more.
With more than half of the show left, disappointed fans can be sure to get some of the other quirky bags on offer, however.
This year, for Bertie Beetle’s 60th birthday, there is a $18 special offering featuring a fun helicopter hat.
The bag includes 20 Bertie Beetles and the choice of a Bertie Beetle Ceramic Egg or a Bertie Beetle helicopter hat and the choice of a birthday card.
Chicane Showbags director Brendan Williams said the Bertie Beetle 60th Birthday showbag was special.
“He’s just turned 60. So it’s a one-year-only 60th birthday Bertie beetle showbag,” Mr Williams said.
“The hat’s a helicopter hat but the funny thing about this one is actually works and the ceramic mug is a collectors’ item.”
Mr Williams said Queenslanders had hit the Ekka like usual but probably a bit harder.
The most expensive showbag this year is the $150 Lindt Box of Blocks, valued at $215. The bag includes a variation of more than 30 blocks of chocolate.
Moreish Nuts owner Kay King said the bag had amazing value with 4.2kg of chocolate for $150.
Another popular bag this year is the Barbie showbag which includes a cosmetic bag, eye mask, hair ties, headband, nail files, nail stickers, pen set, weekly planner and a non woven bag.
After the movie release, operators have said it has sold very quickly.
