Maryborough house destroyed in fire

A resident has been pulled out from underneath a burning house before it was totally destroyed by fire overnight. WATCH THE VIDEO

A house has been destroyed after fire broke out on the Fraser Coast overnight.

Emergency services were called to a single storey Queenslander on fire in Ferry Lane in Maryborough just after midnight on Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed by flames and located a resident underneath the house.

The fire was extinguished about 1.40am however the building was destroyed.

Police have declared a crime scene while fire investigators work to determine the cause of the blaze.

Queensland Ambulance Services said no people required treatment at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
