Man’s ordeal after being trapped by concrete pillars on railway line at Avenell Heights

A man has become wedged between concrete pillars along a regional railway line.

A man became wedged between concrete pillars along a regional railway line at Avenell Heights in Bundaberg.

Emergency services were called to the north coast line at 7.30pm on Saturday night.

“A man has became stuck between concrete pillars, and required extraction,” an emergency spokesman said.

The man was eventually freed at 8:40pm and assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service after being trapped for almost an hour.

“Crews were in action and stabilized the concrete pillars to assist QAS to extricate the person.”

It is not yet understood how the man became trapped.
