A man in his 50s has suffered significant injuries after being struck by a tree west of Brisbane.

A man in his 50s has sustained significant injuries after being struck by a tree west of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a private property on Lockyer View road, in the Wivenhoe Region at 2:15pm following reports a tree had fallen on a person.
The man suffered significant head injuries with ambulance crews and a rescue helicopter dispatched to the scene.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew was tasked to the scene to assist paramedics with entering the property.
As of 3:04pm, the man was yet to be flown to hospital.
