Man suffers smoke inhalation after unit catches fire in Brisbane’s south

A man has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a unit fire in South Brisbane this afternoon.

Paramedics were called to Hope St just after 1pm to find a man in his 40s suffering smoke inhalation.

He was taken to St Andrews Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said firefighters were called to the scene but a security guard had already extinguished the small unit fire.
