Dashcam footage has captured the moment a motorcyclist crashes and falls headfirst on the Gold Coast Motorway on Thursday.
Posted to Dashcam Owners Australia’s Facebook page, the man can be seen driving between two of the three lanes, clearing two cars before losing control and stacking.
The bike can be heard slamming into the back of the car, as footage shows the motorcyclist unmoving on the road.
Multiple cars are caught stopping to pull over and help the man.
A Queensland Police spokesperson told Courier Mail the crash occurred on the Pacific Motorway at Ormeau around 5:12pm.
According to Queensland Ambulance Services, the man suffered minor injuries and declined transport to hospital.
The footage has been viewed over 80,000 times and attracted hundreds of comments.
“I was about 100m back from where this happened when everyone hit the brakes, the rider was filtering/splitting too fast for the traffic build up, only reason I looked at the bike I thought to myself he’s got a lot of speed going on,” one person wrote.
“I’m glad the rider is OK … and it was good to see the support he got immediately from other motorists, however I’ll bet he will look back on this and regret the way he was riding,” another said.
