Man seriously hurt in balcony fall

A man has sustained severe head injuries after falling from the balcony of a Gold Coast apartment block.

Paramedics were called to Bli Bli, north of Mooloolaba this afternoon.

A MAN has sustained severe head injuries after falling from a balcony of an apartment block at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

Paramedics were called the scene at 7.04pm after receiving a report that a 26-year-old man had fallen from a balcony.

He was reportedly unconscious but breathing when crews arrived on the scene at Ann St, and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital under lights and sirens.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it was believed the man had fallen from the third storey.

The spokeswoman said the man sustained serious head injuries.
