Two men are dead and four others - three children and a woman - are in hospital after separate crashes in the state’s south on Saturday.
A 24-year-old man has died and four others - three children and a 28-year-old woman - are in hospital after a crash in Deception Bay.
A 24-year-old man, from Gympie, died after a Toyota 4WD collided with a Ford at the intersection of Deception Bay Road and Webster Road at Deception Bay shortly after 9pm.
The man, who was the front passenger of the Toyota, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical injuries but later died.
A 28-year-old Margate woman, the driver of the Toyota, and three children who were passengers in that vehicle were all taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the Ford, a 34-year-old Scarborough man, suffered minor injuries.
In a separate crash, a 76-year-old man died after the motorbike he was on collided with a car in Toowoomba.
The Wilsonton man had been riding a black 2004 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle travelling west along James Street at the intersection of Hulme Street when he collided head-on with a blue 2010 Holden Cruze sedan about 4pm.
The motorcyclist was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a critical condition where he died Sunday morning.
The driver of the sedan, a 26-year-old Withcott woman, and his six-year-old passenger were uninjured in the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating both fatal crashes and police have asked for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Also on Saturday, a 19-year-old man was left fighting for life after the car he was a passenger in slammed into a power pole at Carina Heights.
The crash happened on Chataway St about 11.30pm when the driver lost control on a bend.
The 19-year-old was a rear driver-side passenger and was taken to the Princess Alexander Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver, a 20-year-old Carina Heights man, and two other male passengers, aged 22 and 19, all suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
In Brisbane, a person suffered serious injuries after a scooter incident on the corner of Upper Edward and Leichhardt streets in Spring Hill at 11.39pm.
The person was taken to the RBWH in a serious condition.
Earlier in the evening one person was taken to the RBWH in a serious condition after a single-vehicle incident in an Eagle St car park just before 8pm.
