Man dies, three hurt in single-vehicle crash at Kingsthorpe, Toowoomba

A 21-year-old man has died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash and three young passengers have been hospitalised – two of whom are in a critical condition – after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree west of Brisbane.

A man has died after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree at Kingsthorpe in Toowoomba overnight.

About 12.30am, police say, the sedan the man was driving was travelling along East Street when it left the roadway near the intersection with North Street, hitting a tree.

All four occupants of the car were entrapped in the vehicle.

The driver, a 21-year-old Wyreema man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the three passengers, aged 26, 17 and 17 and from the Oakey area, were hospitalised.

The 26-year-old and one of the 17-year-olds were flown to hospital in Brisbane in critical conditions, while the other boy was transported in a serious condition to Toowoomba Hospital.
