Man dies after car and truck collide on Bruce Highway

A 23-year-old man has died after the car he was driving collided head-on with a truck on the Bruce Highway overnight, leaving the truck driver trapped.

A man has died at the scene of a crash involving a car and truck on the Bruce Highway overnight.

The 23-year-old was the sole occupant of a car that collided head-on with a truck on the highway about five kilometres from Bloomsbury in the state’s north about 9.20pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, who became entrapped and had to be freed by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, suffered minor injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating.
