Man dead, teenager in serious condition after car crashes into tree in Scenic Rim

A 20-year-old man has died and a 14-year-old boy has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after their vehicle collided with a tree in the state’s south overnight.

A 20-year-old man has died and a 14-year-old boy has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after their vehicle collided with a tree at Milford in the Scenic Rim Region overnight.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Wimmers Hill Road at 11.50pm Saturday.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 20-year-old Boonah man, died at the scene.

Queensland Ambulance said one of the passengers, a 14-year-old boy, who was initially entrapped, was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition with spinal precautions and leg injuries, and two other passengers, an 18-year old Cannon Creek man and a 14-year old boy were taken to Ipswich Hospital with neck pain.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, and Queensland Police are appealing to anyone with information or relevant dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward.
