A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car west of Brisbane this morning.

Paramedics attended the vehicle and pedestrian incident on Goondoola Street, Redbank Plains at 5.32am.

The man was rushed to Princess Alexandra hospital under lights and sirens in a critical condition.

The Critical Care and High Acuity Response Unit were in attendance.

It comes after a tragic incident last night saw a 14-month-old die when she was struck by a reversing car at her home.
