A man in his 20s is in a critical condition after sustaining head injuries in a collision between an e-scooter and a vehicle in Fortitude Valley.
At about 5.40pm Tuesday, the e-scooter and a black sedan collided on Morgan St near the intersection with McLachlan St.
The rider of the e-scooter, a 26-year-old Brisbane City man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The driver of the sedan was not injured.
The left lane of McLachlan St was blocked as emergency services responded to the incident.
A man who saw the crash said he understood the scooter rider was initially not breathing.
“I think he is responsive now but it was pretty bad,” he said.
The Forensic Crash Unit is asking for anyone with dash-cam footage of either vehicle prior to the incident, or any witnesses, to contact police.
