A man has partially flooded seven floors of an inner city apartment complex after police allege he intentionally caused serious damage to the building.
Detectives investigated the large scale water damage at a Wolseley St, Woolloongabba, apartment complex overnight, today arresting and charging a man.
Police say extensive damage occurred to walls, floors, elevator shafts and electrical systems following the partial flooding of the unit complex from the seventh floor down to the basement.
Multiple apartments were also damaged.
Dutton Park detectives allege the man turned on a fire hydrant sometime before 2.50am Saturday and also allegedly removed fire extinguishers from eight floors of the complex.
A 25-year-old Woolloongabba man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count each of wilful damage, enter premises and commit an indictable offence, wilful damage, interfere with fire apparatus and contravene a direction.
He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, February 22.
