Major delays on Bruce Highway towards Brisbane after multi-vehicle crash at Griffin

Traffic chaos has unfolded across Brisbane ahead of peak-hour this morning after a spate of crashes on major arterials including the Bruce Highway and Pacific Motorway.

Commuters faced significant delays this morning following eight separate crashes that brought major inbound roads heading into Brisbane to a standstill.

Drivers heading south toward Brisbane from Griffin were facing minor delays after a two-vehicle crash at the southbound on-ramp brought traffic to a stall at 5.23am.

One person in a stable condition was treated at the scene, with peak traffic initially causing 50-minute delays.

A multi-vehicle crash at Caboolture had added to the delays, after emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash about 6.45am, roughly one kilometre before the Caboolture exit.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a woman with neck pain was taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition.

Motorists heading northbound along the Pacific Motorway were also hit with delays of up to 50 minutes.

South of the city, a multi-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway at Greenslops led to delays of up to an hour.

Paramedics assessed one person for a minor head injury.

Traffic had also built up in the northbound lanes of the Pacific Mwy with traffic stretched for more than 24km from Loganholme to Greenslopes, with congestion and an earlier collision causing that journey to take 54 minutes.

A four vehicle nose-to-tail crash at Darra on the M7 inbound toward Brisbane also caused delays of up to 30 minutes.

Commuters heading northbound toward the city via the Gateway Motorway at Stretton also had delays of up to 25 minutes.
