Woman escapes with minor injuries after veering off Keeleys Rd in Andergrove

A woman has ploughed her car into a ditch off the side of a main road in Mackay, crossing the opposite lane and coming to a stop just metres before a pole.

Crews were called after a driver crashed off the side of a road and into a ditch, crossing over the opposite lane.

A female in her 40s was heading down Keeleys Rd towards Andergrove at around noon today when she veered off the 80km/h road, crossing to the opposite side and landing in the ditch.

A clear path of destruction could be seen, with the car coming to a stop fewer than 10 metres from an electricity pole.

Reports confirm the driver suffered minor injuries and didn’t require transport to a local hospital.
