Their stories and professional portraits will feature in the exhibition at the Jubilee Community Centre running from August 17 to 26 as well as digitally across the region.
Mayor Greg Williamson said the exhibition was a snapshot of the selfless seniors who made the Mackay region a better place.
"The photos are outstanding and the stories really make you appreciate how valuable our seniors are to the region and our community," Cr Williamson said.
He said other initiatives for senior citizens included the free tech classes, an Artspace Mackay discussion and the Senior Pets Initiative.
"It's a tremendous program that is designed to find loving homes for older abandoned animals with a senior person," Cr Williamson said.
"Adoption is free and animals with lower energy levels are picked to suit seniors and their lifestyles."

In the Isaac region, Queensland Seniors Week activities include picnics in the park, morning teas, tai chi classes, workshops, cooking demonstrations and more.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said the significant week gave people the chance to recognise the knowledge, experience and value older residents brought to the Isaac region.
"I encourage all Isaac residents, regardless of their age, to take part in this year's Queensland Seniors Week and enjoy the wonderful program of events and activities that make up this important celebration in these uncertain times."
Ms Baker said provisions had been made for COVID-19 to ensure people could participate safely but reminded residents to stay home if they felt unwell, had a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.
