A coastal convergence will bring rain to the Mackay region over the coming days, with one town expected to get soaked with 100mm of falls on Monday.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Rosa Hoff said showers would be very likely across Monday and Tuesday, with minimum temperatures in the low 20s and maximum temperatures of low 30s predicted during the week.
Ms Hoff said Mackay was expected to get 30 to 40mm of rain on Monday - but Carmila would cop a drenching with 100mm.
"The motion of a trough moving through the southern interior of Queensland will impact Mackay on Wednesday," she said.
The trough could bring a midweek storm to the region, with a medium chance of more showers.
"We're expecting the most amount of rain (on Monday)," Ms Hoff said.
"Temperatures are on the cool side but won't be changing too much."
