In what will be the ultimate swan song for many of the senior players at the club, the Wanderers tasted premiership glory at BB Print Stadium on Saturday.
In front of a packed grandstand, the Under-17 Wanderers side put Norths to the sword after conceding an early try, running away with the 23-6 win in the Rugby League Mackay and District grand final.
Captain Emily Bella was dominant throughout the match as she scored a try, converted three of four attempts, and scored a one-point field goal in the dying seconds of the match.
Mersedes Lawson was also strong early before her night finished with a knee injury.
Cayla Shepherd scored a try, as did Bella’s co-captain Abbey-Rose Bowman.
Norths’ captain Eva Neilson was the lone tryscorer as she crept over the line to open the match’s accounts.
