Mackay Cricket Association: Senior and junior teams of the week named

From the U13s right through to first-grade, relive every standout performance from the weekend in Mackay. See who cracked our teams of the week.

Round four of Mackay Cricket Association dished up surprises aplenty, particularly in first-grade.

Cameron Keene and Shaun Austin led Souths picked up their third win of the season to move to the top of the table, skittling reigning premiers Magpies to claim a 44-run victory.

Walkerston also picked up their first win of the season, with Adam Knezevic and Nick Lotarski’s damaging new ball spells paving the way for the five-wicket victory.

In the seconds, a remarkable 198-run partnership between Duncan Sperling and Shawn Day saw Norths cruise past Pioneer Valley’s 211 with eight wickets in hand.

Sarina’s Stephen Clark struck an unbeaten 98 in third grade, while Etienne Pretorious struck an unbeaten ton for the Walkerston U17s - also notching a half-century in first-grade the next day if you don’t mind.
