Four undefeated teams remain in the Confraternity Shield battle and one school sits clear at the top in the girls group ahead of a history-breaking final.
Out of the division one teams in the running to achieve a place finish in the coming days, here are the team power rankings:
1. Marymount College, Burleigh Waters (girls)
They were the dominant team all tournament and they pulled it off on the final day against St Pat’s to be crowned the inaugural girls Confraternity Shield winners.
They will head back to Burleigh Waters as the sole undefeated girls team.
The team’s four wins in the pool stage coming with 84 points for and a mere eight points against.
Winger Sienna Jones led the team for the tournament with five tries.
2. Ignatius Park College, Townsville (boys)
The Iggy Park juggernaut has continued to roll on.
The Townsville school is in prime position to win its sixth Confraternity Shield in 10 carnivals.
Not only did the team win all three games in its pool, but players did it without conceding a single point and piling on 122 themselves.
Iggy Park went on to defeat Iona College 30-4 in the quarterfinal, and then St Brendan’s College 12-6 to reach the final.
Centre Brodie Dinneen is second top points scorer for the tournament at 46, while Brody Ah Kit leads the team with four tries.
3. St Patrick’s College, Mackay (boys)
St Pat’s undefeated charge through Pool C came from scoring 64 points and conceding 22.
A 28-0 demolition of St Augustine’s, and a 16-6 win over TCC has set the team up for a final date with Iggy Park.
Three tries each to hooker Xavier Kerrisk and winger Bailey Anderson and 34 points for centre Kai Simon, lead the side.
Usurping Iggy Park feels a lot more possible on Friday than it did 24 hours ago after St Brendan’s put up a great fight.
4. St Patrick’s College, Mackay (girls)
St Pat’s players showed a lot of heart in front of their home faithful at BB Print Stadium against Marymount in the girls final.
They won three games and lost one in the pool phase, scoring 86 points and conceding 26.
Second rower Lauren Jones and halfback Mersades Lawson led the team with three tries apiece.
5. Emmaus College, Rockhampton (girls)
Having beaten St Pat’s in the pool phase, Emmaus was unlucky to miss the girls’ final.
Grouped in with Marymount, the nature of the girls tournament meant it was always going to be difficult for two schools from the same pool to make the final.
The players will be able to walk away from Confraternity with their head held high after winning four of their five games and only losing to the eventual carnival winners.
Lillian Yarrow was the carnival’s leading try and point scorer with seven tries and 42 points.
They beat TCC to finish in third.
6. The Cathedral College, Rockhampton (boys)
TCC’s pool stage was more impressive than St Pat’s, where the team was undefeated at 74 points for and 10 against.
However the side only narrowly made it past Marymount College in the quarterfinal at 14-10 and lost to St Pat’s in the semis 16-6 to miss out on a spot in the final.
TCC will play St Brendan’s for third place.
Winger Toby Bateman has led the side with four tries.
7. St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon (boys)
St Brendan’s took Iggy Park down to the wire in Thursday’ss semi-final.
The defence has been a strength all tournament, having conceded only 12 points in the pool stage.
St Brendan’s defeated St Mary’s Toowoomba 24-14 in the quarterfinal to reach the final four.
Centre Jett Day leads the team with three tries for the carnival heading into the battle for third place.
8. The Cathedral College, Rockhampton (girls)
The Cathedral College girls won two games, lost two and won via forfeit another.
Six tries from Alenna Whipp were instrumental in the side making the final four.
The team finished in fourth after a tough loss to Rockhampton rivals, Emmaus.
