A luxurious holiday home overlooking the Pacific Ocean will be built on a Queensland island.

Hamilton Island is expanding its resort accommodation with this two storey modern mansion at 5 Coral Sea Avenue.

It is just one example of island resorts benefiting from record tourism and state investment.

The gorgeous development hosts four bedrooms, each with their own ensuite and balcony.

A lower floor includes a cinema, bar, wine cellar, as well as an expansive open kitchen and lounge area.

This leads onto an outdoor living area with a swimming pool, spa, and deck complete with a fire pit.

Each level steps down the hill with a stunning view of the sea and Whitsunday Island.

The development follows news of massive holiday demand as Hamilton Island bounces back from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Resort accommodation from hotels to private villas like this one were reportedly booked out from August to December.

The year 2022 broke all tourism records with 923,000 domestic visitors spending $1.5 billion dollars in the region.

“We can compete with anywhere in the world for the range of experiences, unique attractions and location,” Tourism Whitsunday CEO Rick Hamilton said.

“We have world-class operators, accommodation options and businesses.

“All working to deliver outstanding holidays to vacationers in The Whitsundays, whatever their budget.”

Sixty-nine per cent of visitor numbers were Queenslanders, with interstate tourists up 18.9 per cent from 2019.

Tourism Whitsunday chair Julie Telford said “it’s no wonder we’ve seen so many Queenslanders rediscover their love of The Whitsundays”.

Three million dollars has also been earmarked by the Queensland Government to boost island tourism.

The Great Barrier Reef Island Marine Infrastructure Package was announced in August 2022.

With state funding increased and pandemic-related travel restrictions reduced, this villa may be just the start.
