140 new housing blocks unlocked in Richmond Hills and Somerset Park

More than 140 residential lots have been unlocked on the north side of Mackay with blocks ranging from 200sq m up to a whopping 1514sq m.

This includes at Richmond Hills and at Somerset Park.

Richmond’s Richmond Hills

The council has approved Pointglen’s application to open up 82 housing blocks, plus issued preliminary approval for a further 26 lots, within stages eight to 14 of the sprawling Richmond Hills subdivision.

The blocks, situated at Richmond between Nindaroo and Rural View, range in size from 495sq m to 1514sq m, with the median block size between 700 and 799sq m.

Pointglen must pay the council more than $3 million in infrastructure charges for the 108 new residential lots.

The Richmond Hills estate, which is built on former cane farming land, is in high demand with only a few blocks remaining in stages four and seven, and further land set aside for stages 15 and beyond.

Andergrove’s Somerset Park

The council has approved 40 new lots for stage four of Somerset Park which range in size from 200sq m to 659sq m.

They are situated opposite an existing wetland, with two access points from Somerset Dr, off Bedford Rd in Andergrove.

Somerset’s stage three blocks of about 650sq m in size are currently listed for upwards of $200,000 on Palmview Homes’ website.
