A Makcay woman was allegedly attacked with a knife held to her throat.

Police are appealing for information after a Mackay woman was held at knifepoint during a terrifying and brazen morning robbery.

Police allege the woman had been working alone at Veolia Environmental Services office at Paget when about 7.37am on November 13 she heard “a smashing noise”.

It will be alleged she saw two unknown offenders “smash a glass door and enter the premises”, Detective Acting Inspector Chris Eaton said.

“Offenders approached her … held a knife close to her throat,” Acting inspector Eaton said.

It will be alleged the duo stole her handbag containing car keys before making off with her white Mitsubishi Outlander.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said her car was later found abandoned along Main Street in Bakers Creek, about 2km south of the Paget business.

He said police had deployed a dog squad but the offenders were not located.

Both offenders are described as male and dark skinned – one is about 19 years old, 160cm in height and skinny wearing black shorts, while the second was about 20 years old and 168cm tall.

Acting inspector Eaton said police were calling for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area around the time of the offence to come forward.
