A SLADE Point woman accused of mistreating puppies denies spitting on a police officer as she was picked up on an arrest warrant.
Prosecutors elected to send the serious assault police charge to the district court.
Michelle Pomfrett has already pleaded guilty to failing to provide food and water to the puppies and obstructing an RSPCA officer in January this year.

The case was listed to be finalised in Mackay Magistrates Court in October but when Ms Pomfrett did not show up an arrest warrant was issued and marked with "no watch-house bail".
Police attended her Slade Point home on Thursday and it is alleged she spat on and obstructed an officer.
Defence barrister Peter Clarke said his client would be pleading not guilty to the serious assault police, which has a maximum penalty of 14 years jail.
A brief of evidence was ordered for January 21 next year.
In relation to the animal negligence charges Mr Clarke said his client claimed "some of the puppies were mechanical".
The court heard those matters were being handled by the RSPCA.

The 52 year old became agitated in Mackay watch-house when Magistrate Damien Dwyer indicated on Friday he would not hear a bail application until a mental health assessment had been completed.
"No, no, no," Ms Pomfrett repeated before mentioning she had mental health issues.
"I need a doctor down here now."
Mr Dwyer adjourned the case to December 8.
