A MACKAY man allegedly tried to extort his former girlfriend to drop a domestic violence order and resume their relationship by threatening to release videos of her having sex with a dog.

The woman told police she had engaged in bestiality twice last year to appease her then-partner's "sexual fetish".

But he told police "she had done bestiality previously and that it wasn't his idea".

Court documents, viewed by the Daily Mercury, state that during the short relationship the pair would watch bestiality porn and spoke about the woman having sex with a dog in front of the man.

She alleges late last year the man adopted a dog for this purpose.

She told police that, twice, the man brought the dog into their bedroom and she had sex with it while he "assisted with the act".

"(He) video recorded the bestiality on his Apple iPhone 8 while making sexual comments," she alleged to police.

Earlier this year the woman sought a temporary protection order against the man.

It is alleged that as a result the man, in his 30s, threatened to distribute the bestiality videos on social media and to her family if she did not withdraw her complaint and resume their relationship.

The court documents state the woman gave police emails and audio recordings of phone calls between her and the man where he "threatens to upload intimate personal images and videos of (her) engaging in bestiality and other sexual acts".

In one conversation he allegedly told her to tell police she "made it up" to get the case dropped.

"I did those things because … it was what turned you on and it's what you liked. It makes me f---ing sick," she allegedly told him in another.

"All you have to do is give me the chance and I'll give you the chance," he allegedly replied.

Court documents state that in an email he allegedly told her "all your dog sh--" was ready to be uploaded if she "stitched" him up.

"Everyone is going to see it … people from your work, the whole lot, it will go everywhere … it will destroy you," he allegedly said.

She alleged to police he has driven past her parent's home and that as a result of his behaviour has had to change her mobile number and delete her social media accounts.

The man was arrested this month and police seized a number of electronic items including 10 mobile phones.

He is charged with bestiality, threatening to distribute intimate images or prohibited visual recording, extortion, attempting to pervert justice, stalking and breaching a domestic violence order.

Court documents state he told police during an interview she had sent him three bestiality videos over social media, that it was her dog and that he was not home at the time of the alleged offending.

He denied saving the video and said he lied about having them to force her to withdraw the protection order.

He alleged the domestic violence complaint was lies and that was why he was upset.

His bail was denied and the case was listed for committal later this year.
