A senior-ranking police officer has been stood down over allegations he had unlawful possession of performance-enhancing drugs.
A Queensland Police Service statement says the 31-year-old senior constable from the Central Police Region was stood down from duty.
“(He) has been served a Notice to Appear in relation to unlawful possession of border-controlled drugs used in performance enhancement,” the QPS statement said.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
The senior constable will face Mackay Magistrates Court on November 2.
