Mackay mother Brooke Suzannah Greive wept as she was sentenced in the Supreme Court

A Mackay mother was sentenced for drug trafficking.

BROOKE Suzannah Greive wiped away her tears as she was sentenced for a four-month drug trafficking venture.

Appearing via video-link at Mackay Supreme Court this week, the 31-year-old mother pleaded guilty to unlawful drug trafficking from March 9, 2019 to July 15, 2019.

Police officers obtained a search warrant for Greive’s Mackay home on July 14 and once inside found notebooks containing records, described as tick sheets, detailing sales of drugs to customers on credit.

Police also located two mobile phones, 48.887g of substance (34.803g of which was methylamphetamine), and $2004 in cash.

Greive initially refused to give police access to the phones, but a few days later, provided police with the information.

Justice David North said the finds revealed Greive was a “busy trafficker of drugs during that period”.

Defence barrister Paul Rutledge said Greive had completed a number of rehabilitation programs including a Changing Habits group program and had completed a low-medium substance use intervention program.

“She’s a woman with a long history of a difficult life and problems she’s had to overcome,” Mr Rutledge said.

Justice North noted that Greive had made “genuine attempts at rehabilitation” for her history of drug addiction.

At the time of the warrant, Greive was 15 months into a two-year operational period.

She was sentenced to a total of 4.6 years imprisonment (with 324 days already served) for unlawful drug trafficking, the unlawful possession of methylamphetamine (a quantity exceeding 2g), contravening an order to reveal information on her mobile, and possessing money suspected to be the profits of her drug enterprise.
