A MAN accused of a stabbing attack at a caravan park north of Mackay has been formally charged in the district court.

Damian Arthur Woollam is charged with malicious act at Seaforth on December 4 last year.

A 48-year-old man suffered serious wounds to his head, chest and back after an alleged assault with a knife about 3.25am.

Mr Woollam is accused of stabbing the man multiple times.

He has remained in custody since his arrest after his bail was denied last year.

Fisher Dore solicitor Sean Gibbs asked for the case to be adjourned.

He said counsel had been briefed in relation to the case and a conference with his client was anticipated for next month.

The matter will be mentioned at the next Mackay District Court callover.
