Police are investigating whether or not the sudden death of a man happened under suspicious circumstances.

An incident occurred sometime on Wednesday, July 10 that resulted in the death of a 68-year-old Mackay man.

The incident occurred within the Mackay region, however police could not be more specific.

Police were called prompting an investigation by detectives who are exploring the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the incident.

It is understood someone is assisting police with inquiries.

No charges have been laid.

“As investigations are ongoing, no further information is available at this time,” a QPS spokesman said.
