A man has been taken to hospital and three people are in police custody after an alleged brawl involving a rock at a Mackay boat ramp.
Police are calling for anyone who was in the River St boat ramp area or has dashcam footage between 11-11.20am on Monday, December 16 after an alleged disturbance broke out involving up to five people.
Mackay police Sergeant Clinton Skillington said there were “multiple victims” with varying injuries from minor grazes to needing to go to the hospital.
One man has received a large gash to his lip and was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics, who were called to the assault, assessed another person who decline any transport.
It is understood all parties were known to each other.
Sergeant Skillington said officers were called to the River St scene about 11.20am.
“As a result of that disturbance we currently have three people in custody and we are actively investigating the circumstances that led to our call,” Sergeant Skillington said.
“We believe a rock was used as part of the incident.”
However he remained tight lipped about what led to the alleged clash stating it was “premature to make comment” at this point in time.
Sergeant Skillington said police were appealing to members of the community with dashcam footage and/or were at the boat ramp from 11am to 11.20am.
