Moranbah woman in court on 16 fraud charges, fake country music tickets
A 34-year-old woman has been charged with selling fake tickets to US country music superstar Luke Combs’ Brisbane concert.

A 34-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly selling fake tickets to US country music star Luke Combs’ sold out Brisbane concert with victims spread across Australia.
It is alleged the tickets were sold for up to $3500 for a set of four with 14 victims aged 18-43 across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
Detectives from the Moranbah Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at a Moranbah property on October 14 where they arrested and charged the Moranbah woman with 16 counts of fraud dishonestly obtain property from another.
“It will be alleged that between September and October 2022 attempts were made to fraudulently sell tickets for concerts in Brisbane for an international country music performer (in August 2023),” the statement says.
“The attempts were allegedly made online via well-known social media platforms.”
The statement says detectives acted on a complaint after money was paid for the tickets, with a further two charges laid related to party hire goods and a property sale.
Combs is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and holds the record for the most weeks spent at number one on the US country chart.
The woman appeared before the Moranbah Magistrates Court on Monday.
She was denied bail is due to reappear on November 4.
