Moranbah man taken to hospital after serious assault, lacerations on back and arm

A Moranbah man was left with lacerations to his back and arm after an alleged serious assault in a central Queensland mining town.

A home invasion has turned violent in a central Queensland mining town.

A man was left with serious but non life-threatening injuries after the attempted robbery became serious assault.

The incident, in the early hours of Friday morning, occurred in Moranbah.

The home on Oxley Road was broken into about 12am.

Police and paramedics were called to the Moranbah property, where they found the injured resident about 12.30am.

The man in his 30s was taken to Moranbah Hospital with lacerations to his back and arm.

He was then taken to Mackay Base Hospital after further assessment in Moranbah.

Police are investigating the incident.
