Mackay teen taken into custody after street fight

POLICE have arrested a Mackay teenager after he allegedly assaulted an officer while they were attempting to drive him home.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the 16 year old had allegedly been involved in a street fight involving between four to five people at Blacks Beach.

Police were called to the disturbance on Bondi Road about 5.30am Friday.
While police were driving the teenager back to his home, it is alleged he assaulted an officer.
The spokeswoman said the teen was taken to the watch house instead of his residence.

The teenager is expected to be charged with one count of assault police.
