A Mackay senior constable charged with an unauthorised purchase of illegal anabolic steroids has faced court for the first time.
Daen-Tahlur Trenton J Kennedy allegedly bought or possessed ligandrol, testolone and itabumoren.
Mackay Magistrates Court heard the 31 year old and father of two initially faced three charges of obtaining schedule 4 and schedule 8 hazardous poison, while on the police payroll.
It is alleged the offending occurred between August 16 and 19 this year in the Mackay region.
As a result he was stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.
Senior Constable Kennedy is being represented by Defence barrister Troy Schmidt.
Ligandrol and testolone are selective androgen receptor modulators used to help repair and build muscle.
Itabumoren is an anabolic growth stimulant that can help increase lean body mass.
Police prosecutor Sheena Gravino said the initial charges had been struck out as legal representatives made adjustments.
The court heard a replacement charge sheet was submitted that rolled the three separate charges into one.
Magistrate Damien Dwyer adjourned Senior Constable Kennedy’s matter until November 29.
