Mackay homicide: Tim Pullen case timeline

What happened to the six people linked to the 34-year-old’s brutal abduction and death in chronological order.

April 16-17, 2012: Timothy Pullen, 34, is abducted from a North Mackay unit and killed. His body is stored in a nightclub cold room and later dumped in remote bushland towards Collinsville.

July 19, 2013: Main instigator Zane Tray Lincoln is arrested on the Sunshine Coast and charged with murder.

July 23-25, 2013: Stephen Dale Renwick and Luke Shayne Kister are arrested in Mackay and charged with accessory to murder. Both are granted bail.

July 31, 2013: Nicholas Voorwinden is arrested in New South Wales and charged with manslaughter. Days later his pregnant former lover Kiera Jeanette McKay is arrested in Northern Territory and also charged with manslaughter. She was extradited to Mackay and Voorwinden to Brisbane.

March 2, 2015: Voorwinden and McKay, who lived at the Valley unit where Mr Pullen was staying, plead guilty to manslaughter for unlocking a door to allow Lincoln and others into the home. They were each jailed for five years suspended after serving 15 months and nine months respectively.

March 3, 2015: Fresh murder charges laid against two men over Tim’s death.

March 4, 2015: Benjamin Francis Graeme Oakley has his first appearance in court for murder and Renwick reappears on a charge of murder.

March 16, 2015: Renwick is granted bail by the Supreme Court after his mother posted a $175,000 surety.

May 31, 2016: Lincoln and Oakley plead guilty to manslaughter ahead of a Supreme Court murder trial. Lincoln sentenced to 11 years’ jail with parole eligibility after five years, and Oakley eight years’ jail with parole eligibility after one third.

J une 1, 2016: Kister and Renwick, who disposed of the body, accompany police to a location near Collinsville in an attempt to recover Mr Pullen’s remains the day after pleading guilty to accessory to manslaughter. They were unsuccessful.

June 3, 2016: Kister and Renwick are sentenced to five years’ jail each with parole eligibility after 12 months and 20 months respectively.

November 22, 2016: Lincoln, Renwick and Kister appeal their sentences claiming they were too harsh under the circumstances.

March 17, 2017: Queensland Court of Appeal rejects their bids.

July 31, 2017: Kister is released on parole.

August 25, 2017: No Body, No Parole law comes into effect.

November 13, 2017: Oakley is realised on parole.

January 12, 2018: Renwick makes a parole bid, the first under the No Body, No Parole rule, and reveals new details that Mr Pullen’s body was cremated and then probably swept away by Cyclone Debbie.

February 16, 2018: Renwick’s parole application is refused. The decision was repealed in May on the basis the Parole Board failed to consider certain material required under law.

May 10, 2018: In applying for release, Lincoln tells the parole board he “has no knowledge” about the whereabouts of Mr Pullen’s body. He provides a statement in which he “attempts to minimise his involvement in the homicide”.

August 24, 2018: Renwick makes a second parole bid in front of different members of the board.

October 22, 2018: Renwick’s parole was refused on the basis the Parole Board was not satisfied “he had co-operated satisfactorily in the investigation of the offence to identify” the location of Mr Pullen’s body.

December 5, 2018: Lincoln’s parole is refused.

June 7, 2019: Lincoln again pushes for parole arguing he could not help find the body because he did not dispose of it. His request for parole review is denied later that month.

Today: The location of Mr Pullen’s body remains unknown.
