An Airlie Beach mum with a history of drug use has copped a lengthy jail term after a search of her phone revealed she supplied and offered meth and cannabis on multiple occasions across North Queensland.
The drug supply took place from March 2021 to February 2022.
The bust occurred after police executed a search warrant on a Preston property and found Jordan Hoffman, 29, sleeping in a vehicle at the address.
In their search of the vehicle the police found a number of prescription medications.
Hoffman, who has a four-year-old son, offered up her phone and an analysis of it revealed 19 drug supplies, Mackay District Court heard.
The most serious offence involved a courier run to Bowen with 1.75g of meth, though an actual exchange did not take place.
Hoffman pleaded guilty to 19 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count of possession of anything used in connection with the supply of dangerous drugs.
The court heard the mum had a long connection with meth, including copping a nine-month jail sentence at Mackay Supreme Court in September 2020 for possession of 7.803g of the schedule 1 narcotic.
She was also convicted for various drug offences at Proserpine Magistrates Court on March 5, 2021, and June 29, 2022.
The court heard Hoffman committed some of her most recent drug crimes while still on parole.
She was remanded in custody in February and had spent nearly nine months in jail at the time of her sentence.
Crown prosecutor Erin Kelly recommended 18 months’ jail.
Defence barrister Matt Heelan said his client wanted to reconnect with her Mackay family and church congregation on her release and move away from her Airlie Beach network.
He noted her drug addiction was the “main catalyst” for her offending and her efforts at rehabilitation could put her onto a new path.
The court heard the mum had taken Bible studies while in prison.
Judge Anthony Rafter said it was clear Hoffman had a “substantial drug addiction”.
“You have used your time productively by undertaking various courses and addressing your drug addiction,” Judge Rafter said.
Hoffman was jailed for 18 months with immediate parole release.
Convictions were recorded.
