A registered sex offender who sent explicit photos of his genitalia to three teenage girls has been charged with multiple counts of failing to comply with reporting conditions.
Kinchant Dam man Joel Douglas Jorgensen, 35, was high on methamphetamines, when he tried getting into the car of a teenage girl after telling her he wanted to engage in sexual acts with her and sending her a photo of his penis via Snapchat.
Mr Jorgensen had earlier sent photos of his genitalia to the girl’s 13-year-old friend plus another 14-year-old girl.
Pleading guilty in 2020 to three counts each of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and using electronic communication to procure a child under 16, Mr Jorgensen was sentenced to two-and-a-half years jail.
By law, Mr Jorgensen must comply with strict reporting conditions under the Child Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2004 which requires offenders who commit sexual offences against children to keep police informed of their whereabouts and other personal details.
Mr Jorgensen did not make an appearance before Mackay Magistrates Court this week after being charged with failure to comply with reporting on four occasions including on July 8, September 4 and twice on September 7 last year.
He is represented by McKays Solicitor with the matter adjourned to June 10.
