Fire south of Proserpine destroys Magee Rd home

A blaze is consuming a two-storey home as emergency services swarm the regional property south of Proserpine.

Firefighters are battling a roaring blaze that had already engulfed a regional home south of Proserpine.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said two crews arrived at the scene in Lethebrook about 12.10pm.

She spokeswoman said the two-storey Magee Rd building was “fully engulfed” in fire.

She said the blaze was contained before 1.15pm but continued to produce a large amount of smoke.

It is understood no one was inside at the time emergency services arrived.

Nearby residents have been advised to close their windows and doors and keep respiratory medications nearby if required.
